Darlington County, SC
Darlington County is in the PeeDee Region of South Carolina. It is about 20 minutes northwest of Florence, SC. The Department of Social Services Office building is located in the city of Hartsville, SC.
The director of the office was very responsive and eager to have a Lily Pad in the office. This office most often has teens spending time in the office regularly.
We installed a Lily Pad room and created a small visitation area in the large breakroom to meet the needs of this office.
Mark Schowalter from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Florence, SC, who was one of the volunteers for the Florence Lily Pad installation, played a vital role in making the Darlington Lily Pad possible by recruiting friends and neighbors to join the effort. Thanks to their incredible teamwork, they completed all of the painting from start to finish, unboxed every item, and assembled the furniture. We are deeply grateful for their time and energy- their efforts made it possible to complete Lee County as well as Darlington County in the same weekend.

Light and bright with plenty of storage and activities.
The sleeper sectional folds out into a full bed to provide a place to rest, day or night.
The desk provides a place for kids to color or do school work. It's also available for case managers to use while they're in the Lily Pad.
The glider provides sensory support and also opens into a recliner. The cabinets provide storage for electronics and toys.
This space had room for a table in addition to the desk. It makes the perfect place to eat, play a game or do a puzzle.
Weighted blankets help calm the nervous system.
The activity walls are often the favorite item in the Lily Pads!
