Financial Transparency That Builds Trust
At Lily Pad, A Soft Place to Land, we believe trust is earned through care, honesty, and accountability.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in South Carolina, we are committed to stewarding every dollar with integrity. That means being open about where funds go and how they directly support children experiencing foster care during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
What You Can Request
We are happy to provide the following documents from the past three years:
• IRS Form 990 (Annual nonprofit return)
• IRS Form 1023 and determination letter
• Annual financial filings with the South Carolina Secretary of State
These are required by law, but more importantly, we offer them because we value your trust.
How to Request Financial Information
Please email contact@lilypadinc.org with:
• Your name and contact information
• The documents you are requesting
• Any questions or additional context you would like to share
We will respond within three business days by sending PDF copies or coordinating a method that works best for you.
Why We Do Not Post Documents Online
We choose a more personal approach because your interest matters to us.
By handling requests directly, we can:
• Provide the exact information you need
• Answer questions with clarity and care
• Build meaningful relationships with our community
We fully meet transparency standards and take extra steps to make the process thoughtful and human.
Our Financial Values
We follow best practices recommended by the North Carolina Council on Nonprofits, including:
Honest fundraising with clear use of funds
Strong internal controls and ethics policies
Active board oversight and conflict of interest guidelines
As our organization grows, we may also pursue voluntary financial reviews or audits to ensure continued accountability.
Thank You for Caring
Your interest in how we operate shows that you care not just about numbers, but about the children we serve and the healing spaces we work to create.
Thank you for standing with us. Your trust helps us provide comfort, dignity, and hope to children in foster care.
