Aiken County DSS Office

Aiken County is in the Midlands Region of South Carolina. It’s on the west side of the state that borders Georgia, about 40 minutes northeast of Augusta, GA.
We had reached out to the Aiken office at the end of 2023, intending to install their Lily Pad in 2024, but due to a fire in parts of the building, plans were put on hold. Thankfully, no one was hurt and repairs were made. Once things were settled several months later, we were excited to start making plans and get it up and running at the beginning of this year.
The office had two rooms that were very similar to each other. We made one the Lily Pad and the other a freshened up visitation room. Our team arrived and the top part of the walls were given a fresh coat of paint and the floors were cleaned. After that the activity wall was installed (always a hit!) and all the furniture was assembled. It all came together nicely and now the kids in Aiken County have a playful, colorful, child-centered space to spend their time while in the office awaiting their next steps.
