Tice Family Honored at Savannah Bananas Game for Foster Care

For many children experiencing foster care, some of the hardest moments happen quietly. Sitting in an unfamiliar office. Waiting, unsure of what comes next.

At Lily Pad, we exist to meet children in those moments with comfort, dignity, and care.

It is from that same heart that we are honored to celebrate our founders, the Tice family, who were recognized as a Bananas Foster Family at the Savannah Bananas game in Greenville, South Carolina.

On April 25, the Tice family was recognized in front of thousands for their impact in foster care. As a Bananas Foster Family, they were honored through a program that highlights local families caring for children experiencing foster care. This recognition reflects what they have faithfully lived out for many years.

Jennifer and Benjamin Tice, along with their children Rhys, Zack, and Eric, have spent the past 15 years opening their home to more than 40 children experiencing foster care. Each child was met with care and love that reflect the heart of Christ.

We are especially grateful for Rhys, Zack, and Eric. They have grown up in this, sharing their home, their time, and their parents with children who needed a place to land. That is not easy, and we are deeply thankful for them.

What began in one home has now grown into something that serves children across South Carolina.

Jennifer and Benjamin founded Lily Pad, A Soft Place to Land, building on what they first lived out in their home. Today, Jennifer serves as Executive Director, carrying that same heart into creating child-centered spaces in partnership with Department of Social Services teams across the state.

Through this work, 67 spaces have been created, and 41 counties and DSS offices are now served. Each space is designed to give children calm, comfort, and dignity during moments of transition.

We continue to build across the state, expanding into new communities and now serving alongside law enforcement as well. What started in one home is now reaching thousands of children.

You can be part of what comes next.

Your generosity helps create more spaces and reach more children and victims across South Carolina. Will you help create a soft place to land for a child?

Congratulations, Jennifer, Benjamin, Rhys, Zack, and Eric!

With gratitude,
The Lily Pad Team
