• Statewide, South Carolina has almost 4,000 children in foster care. Approximately 500 of them are in Greenville County.

• Greenville County recently moved to a new office. The space provided for this Lily Pad is approximately 22ft x 12 1/2 ft. We were able to include a play area, work area, and eating area in this space. Design was limited as we were unable to change carpet, paint or put holes in the walls.

• This office currently is unable to sleep children overnight. Any children that need to spend a night or weekend in this office go to Spartanburg County office (home of Lily Pad #3) to sleep.

• 6-10 children are regularly spending their days at this DSS location.

• March 2026: Room Refresh

  • This room has been used daily for almost 4 years, to the extent that about 18 months after the original installation, Lily Pad created a second room in the office due to the growing need.

  • After years of building trust and partnership, we were given permission to paint, replace flooring, and reimagine the layout to better serve the children and staff.

  • We were able to reuse the majority of the furniture, toys, books and art supplies that were originally put into the rooms - simply reworking the space to improve functionality and create a better flow for both staff and children who use it each day.

  • We remain deeply committed to these spaces - regularly checking in, responding to evolving needs, and ensuring each room is ready every single day to support vulnerable children with comfort, dignity and care.

  • We are deeply grateful to Brookwood Church for donating the flooring and for partnering with us to help maintain these rooms, and to Fruition Floors for generously giving their time to make this transformation possible.
